As with all RODA homes, countless hours of meticulous planning and research went into this build. Our vision was clear – to create a show home that reflected our values as New Generation Builders and showcased our team’s commitment to excellence.

Step inside the RODA Show Home
Based on a design dubbed ‘Step House’, our Show Home is a modern dual occupancy design featuring two double-storey residences. Each home includes three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a kitchen, living and dining area, study, single car garage and alfresco living area and a Plungie pool. Every little detail – from the floor plan to the finishes – has been expertly designed and executed and we are beyond proud of our team’s work.

Street appeal in spades
When you pull up to the RODA Show Home, you are greeted by a strikingly modern design with plenty of street appeal. We used a combination of Industrial Range Bricks from Austral Bricks, white Weathertex cladding, black aluminium screening and foam and render to create this mixed-material façade.
A blonde timber front door adds a pop of colour and ties in with the oak engineered timber flooring, installed by Perfect Timber Floors, that welcome you as you step inside.
Wow factor in the kitchen
The Show Home’s monochrome kitchen design makes a bold statement. At the heart of this area is the island bench, featuring an elegant and meticulously crafted curve on one side. With its fluted black panelling and a breathtaking natural stone benchtop from Surface Spectrum, the island draws the eye and provides just the right amount of contrast against the dark joinery that makes up much of the kitchen.
We enlisted the expert team at MR Cabinets to install the seamless and stylish cabinetry, pairing this with a glass splashback to increase natural light and draw the outside in. Stylish matte black tapware from Phoenix Tapware ties the look together. The final flourish in the kitchen comes in the form of a matte black fridge and wine cabinet, both of which add huge wow factor to the space.
Bathroom bliss
While we largely used engineered timber throughout the home, we opted for a soft grey tile in the bathrooms for functionality and durability. We carried these large tiles from the floor all the way to the ceiling to create a seamless look and feel, while ensuring cleaning and maintenance would be a breeze.
In the ground floor powder room, a rustic concrete basin takes pride of place, with a floating vanity, rounded mirror and matte black tapware added to achieve a chic and modern result.
Outdoor living at its finest
At the rear of the Show Home, a custom designed alfresco living space awaits. Built from merbau decking, this outdoor living area is the perfect place to enjoy Melbourne’s balmy weather with family and friends.
We also installed an Arena Plunge Pool in the outdoor space, with temperature controls that make it equally perfect for cooler days and summer evenings. Overcoming challenges
As with any build, we had to navigate a number of challenges during the planning, design and construction stages of this project. One of the early obstacles on this project was the steep slope of the block. Of course, this challenge was no match for our expert team who created a clever design that worked with the angle of the property and made the decision to build on stumps rather than a concrete slab.
